Declaring a Major or Minor

Majors and minors available to you and how you declare them depend on your "home" school or college.

Commerce students

Requirements for a major or minor offered by the College of Commerce can be viewed in the Undergraduate Catalog . Declaration forms are available in the Commerce Undergraduate Program Office (DPC 8500) or may be downloaded via PDF below.

Students in other schools & colleges

Requirements for majors or minors offered by the College of Commerce can be viewed in the Undergraduate Catalog .

  • For students seeking to double major across colleges you must review the catalog information for BOTH majors and meet with advisors in BOTH colleges. You must declare each major with the College or School offering for the major.

  • For non-commerce students seeking minors offered by the College of Commerce see College of Commerce catalog http://sr.depaul.edu/catalog/archived.shtml(s) under the discipline titled "Non-Commerce Student minor." You must declare your Commerce minor with your home school or college.

COMMERCE MAJORS

The College of Commerce offers majors in the following disciplines:

Students are expected to declare a major by the end of junior year. Please note that a grade of C- or better is required in each major field course, whether taken as part of the major or as an elective. Also, some majors have minimum GPA requirements that must be met prior to declaration.

MINORS for COMMERCE STUDENTS

College of Commerce students may earn a minor in the following Commerce disciplines:

  • Accountancy
  • Business Administration
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Management
  • Management Information Systems (MIS)
  • Marketing
  • Multicultural Marketing – Hispanic Marketplace
  • Sales Leadership

Commerce Student – Non-Commerce Minor

As a Commerce student you can minor in other disciplines in other colleges or schools across the University. You may review other schools' or colleges' minor offerings in the Undergraduate Catalog http://arc.depaul.edu/bulletin/catalog.shtml

Commerce students must use the Minor Declaration form for Commerce students to declare ANY minor (this includes any minor in the College of Commerce or another school or college). Commerce Students only, click here to download the Commerce student minor declaration form.

Non-Commerce students must follow the minor declaration process of their home college, even though the minor is offered through the College of Commerce.
