IBPE coordinates a number of programs for its audience of students, faculty and the greater Chicago business community. Our annual schedule includes the Vincentian Colleges International Conference on Business Ethics, panel discussions and workshops. The programs supported by the IBPE reflect our commitment to our newly defined IBPE Mission Statement, specifically Tier III addressed at the Community: “Catalyzing the for-profit sector to address poverty through active engagement, both locally and globally."
Abbott Laboratories-Funded Lecture Series
Abbott Laboratories will graciously sponsor a lecture series devoted to topics relevant to our Mission over the next three years. The current theme is “Alleviating Poverty Through Profits” and will feature the following lectures:

Prof. Stuart Hart from Cornell University will discuss his book, “Capitalism at the Crossroads,” and his co-authored article, “The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid”

Dr. William Easterly from New York University will discuss his book, “White Man’s Burden: Why the West's Efforts to Aid the Rest Have Done So Much Ill and So Little Good”
