Welcome to the Institute of Business and Professional Ethics at DePaul University, supported by the College of Commerce and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences!

The mission of the Institute of Business and Professional Ethics is to facilitate ethical deliberation by stirring the moral conscience and by developing models for ethical decision-making in business and the professions, particularly aimed at:

I. Students: Teaching students ethical practices and inspiring them to engage in social justice initiatives;

II. Business: Advancing ethical practices in business organizations in the Chicago area;

III. Community: Catalyzing the for-profit sector to address poverty through active engagement, both locally and globally.

Social Venture Business Plan Competition: With the Grameen Creative Lab, DePaul University is sponsoring a competition to design a replicable model of a social business that creates ten jobs for individuals living in poverty. Training begins at the end of the month!

The Institute for Business and Professional Ethics is co-hosting an event on the 14th of February in room 8010 here in the DePaul Center on healthcare in Africa—more specifically, Dr. Klaus Leisinger, Chairman of the Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development and Dr. Flora Kessy of Mzumbe University will present on healthcare and corporate responsibility in Tanzania.
